Parents and Friends

PARENTS AND FRIENDS GROUP

St Thomas’ Primary School has a strong and active Parent and Friends Group (P&F). The P&F supports the Principal in the activities of the school, promotes a spirit of friendship and cooperation within the school community. The P&F collaborates with the Principal to raise and manage funds, which complement the school budget, for the benefit of students and the St Thomas’ community.

 

The P&F operates in accordance with the Terms of Reference mandated by Catholic Education Western Australia Ltd (CEWA) available here.

 

MEMBERSHIP

Parents:  All parents/caregivers of children at St Thomas’ are active and supportive members of the P&F. You are very welcome and encouraged to attend meetings and your support in volunteering, helping out and participating in many of the amazing events on offer is appreciated.

Friends: On occasion we have community members who wish to be involved and support our school. Visitors are welcome.

Committee: The P&F is led by a volunteer group of parents who fulfil one of four roles on the committee. If you would like to know more about the role of the committee, or nominate yourself for a committee role in future, please contact: stthomaspandf6010@gmail.com

MEETINGS

Meetings are held regularly throughout the year in the school library and can be attended online if required. The purpose of the meetings is to discuss planned events and the allocation of P&F funds to activities within the school. All parents are welcome to suggest additional agenda items which will be requested in an email from the P&F committee, prior to each meeting.

Meeting dates are advertised on the Term Planners and in the school newsletter.

VOLUNTEERING

There a plenty of opportunities throughout the year to volunteer and we welcome all helpers! Opportunities to volunteer are advertised through the newsletter and via email, keep an eye out to see if you can help.
