FINANCE OFFICER

St Thomas’ is a vibrant, single stream, co-educational primary school catering for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. Situated in the heart of Claremont, the school seeks to educate the whole child in a Christ centred, child focused, safe learning environment, where all students are valued and celebrated for their uniqueness.
We are seeking to appoint a permanent, part-time Finance Officer working two days per week or equivalent, to work in conjunction with our current Finance Officer. The role primarily supports the Principal with finance, compliance and control of the day to day accounts of the school.
This role would suit an organised and personable individual with initiative who is looking to develop their skills base so that they can work with increasing independence as well as in a team environment.

A. ESSENTIAL:
• Commitment to the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• A service mind-set so that the Catholic Schools in Western Australia are provided with the service standards necessary to achieve their development objectives within system priorities and accountabilities.
• Demonstrated experience of working effectively within teams to achieve objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise work, take initiative and meet deadlines.
• Extensive experience in bookkeeping.
• Experience in financial procedures including accounts receivable, accounts payable, preparation of Business Activity Statements, and general ledger processing.
• Sound knowledge and demonstrated ability of relevant accrual accounting practices.
• Computer skills and knowledge including experience in financial programs, Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet Applications.

B. HIGHLY DESIRABLE:
• A relevant qualification in Accounting, Business or a related field would be an advantage, but is not essential.
• Experience in a school environment would be an advantage, but is not essential

TEACHER (EARLY YEARS)

Position details:
We are seeking a highly motivated professional with a desire to be a part of a dynamic teaching and learning community and who is passionate about education in the Early Years. This is a temporary one-year teaching position commencing on 1 January 2021 and concluding on 31 December 2021.

We are seeking a committed and dynamic leader to join our Leadership Team; an enthusiastic and dedicated individual, who can work as part of a team and has a strong pastoral care skill set. This is an ongoing permanent position.

• Capacity to be an innovative and instructional leader
• Excellent knowledge of curriculum development and ability to mentor staff to support them to achieve their potential as classroom practitioners.
• Strong ICT skills and the ability to seamlessly integrate ICT into the learning
• Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to lead teachers in differentiating the learning program for all students, with an ability to use data to adjust the learning appropriately
• A sound understanding of the West Australian Curriculum
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents and parish in developing a harmonious community atmosphere.
• Highly organised, with an understanding of school administrative work, SEQTA, accountability and deadlines.
